cards are dealt, pain is felt, spirit is eternal, but soul is true/ colors fade, flowers bloom, birth is ancient; death is too/ open now, smile at the sun, exposed to the chill, not afraid to feel/ because the world is beautiful, heaven is here, love is forever and life is real...

Why do we fear the things we want the most?

hmm...i can think of a few possibilities:
1. we're conditioned to fear our strongest desires a. they're usually outside of our comfort zones b. most people don't pursue their greatest & deepest, so that makes those that do oddballs (aka "irresponsible")
2. maybe pressing through that fear strengthens us for the occupancy of the place we most desire
3. maybe there's the threat of disappointment once pursuit & attainment has occurred
4. possibly God's way of including Him/Her in our lives; if we're fearful enough but determined to keep going, it will require divine intervention...especially with matters of the heart

great question sis! much love!
because we're afraid there's a possibility we just might not get 'em
and possibly b/c we are afraid of how much power we actually have.
